However, there are a couple of different ways to figure out birthday numerology.

In this article, I will discuss the significance of your actual birth date, from 1 to 31. People born on each day have certain traits that dominate, and certain traits that are underdeveloped. Depending on whether these traits are useful or drawbacks to you in your life, you can of course take steps to improve and highlight those traits, or to work and improve them.

For example, let’s say you were born on the 16th day of any given month. One numerology expert states that this “gives a sense of loneliness and generally the desire to work alone.” Other traits listed are “You may be emotional, but have a hard time expressing these emotions.”

What are traits that are desirable? Having an innate sense of honesty and ethics is always good. Being an excellent organizer, or someone who is a good manager, are good. Other traits are being ambitious, or goal-oriented.

What are some weak traits, that can be divined through birthday numerology?

Well, having a domineering personality can be identified through numerology, and while this is certainly good when one wants to manage one’s own business, it can be difficult in one’s personal life. Tendencies to nervousness or anger can also be identified by the birth day.

Using numerology is a way to know yourself…but it is not the be all and end all of yourself. If you don’t like some of your traits, acknowledge them and work to improve them!

Having another quick look at Geoff’s numerology name we see that he has a lot of 5′s in his name. However, a lot of people do, as the letter E relates to the number 5 and the letter E is the most used letter of the alphabet. So Geoff isn’t unusual here.

He does though, also have a lot of 6′s in his name and this isn’t usual. Because he has four 6′s in his name (whereas most people only have 1) this warrants further investigation.

However, it is also possible to do numerology using a person’s name, as well. A person’s name can be reduced down to numbers as well…anything can….and a whole reference work has been built up to learn what each of these numerology names means.

This is part of Vedic Astrology, part of the Hindu belief system.

In order to find out numerology names, you basically use the same tactic as you do with finding your birth date – you write down your full name, convert that to numbers, add them all together and then reduce them to a single digit.

It doesn’t matter if you have a simple name, like John Smith, or a long name, like John Frederick Remington Smith…. you figure out the number for the entire name.

However, it’s not as simple as having A count as 1 and Z count as 26. The letters are figured out in groups of 9.  So A, J, and S are 1s, and I, and R are counted as 9!

Then, once you have a number from between 1 to 9, you consult the appropriate reference work to see what it has to say about your tendencies, characteristics and traits.

There are other numerology systems out there, however. I have seen those described that will work with just the first name, and rather than reducing that name down to single digits, will use double digits!

For example, in this system, Tina works out to have a number of 22! And there is a reference work that will give information about that particular number and what it means in regards to ones character traits.

The different numerology systems can be confusing. It’s best to find one system, and just stick with that.

Numerology is the study of how numbers affect our lives.  Some people view it as a “mystical” practice, while others find it a scientific method for understanding ourselves. Are there things in our life, and in ourselves, that are pre-determined? Numerologists believe so, and they believe that by finding one’s psychic number, one can learn what those pre-determined items are.

However, there is a slight problem with this…in that there are many different forms of numerology. Practitioners in the East figure the numbers differently from those in the West. So bear that in mind when you are looking for psychic numbers for yourself and loved ones.

Psychic numbers are part of Vedic numerology, therefore – part of the Hindu belief system. According to this system, “psychic numbers” define your character, and are dominant until a person reaches the age of about 35. After that, the “destiny” (or life path) number, takes over.

For this system, you input the day of your birth, the month of your birth, and the year of your birth, and achieve it the same way, adding all the numbers together and reducing them to a single digit.. Basically, while their “destiny” number is the same as our “life path” number, their “psychic number” consolidates our “vibratory number.” For example, if you’re born on the 21st of a month, you’re vibratory number is 21. Your psychic number, however, is 3.

Whatever numerology system you use, just make sure that you are computing your numbers and then using the right reference work to find out what those numbers mean!

One thing to remember when doing vedic numerology, however, is that this system calculates your date of birth differently. In this system, the day starts at dawn. Numerology is that simple.

So what is a life path? Well…some numerologists believe that a “vibratory” number will tell them the traits and tendencies of the individual with that number. Others believe that such a number will also tell people the actual way in which their life will unfold, based on which tendencies are dominant.

For example, if your “vibratory” number is a 1, some experts say that you are motivated by ambition, and the desire to do great things. You have the potential (potential is the operative word, of course) to be a great leader – an entrepreneur, a general, a CEO. So add 1+3 to equal 4. Then add your birth month together, so if you were born in July the month would be 07 and the number would be 7. Next add your birth year together so if you were born in 1956 you would add 1+9+5+6=21. Change 21 to a single digit by adding 2+1 to make 3. Finally add all of the single digits you were left with for the birth date, month and year together. So in this case it would be 4+7+3 and that would equal 14. Add 1+4 together to come up with 5 which will be your life path number.

Life path numerology shows you once you have your primary number, what life path you are destined to lead according to numerology. This is in no way how your life will definitely go as we all make our own choices in life. However it is a blueprint basically that allows you to see how your life could go and what your future holds for you.
